An old pagan holiday dedicated to crop harvests. La Fugarena is held at a castle in Terra del Sole, a city in Emilio Romagna region, in Italy.
The main feature of the La Fugarena celebration is a huge fire in the main square. The fire has been lit since very ancient times to thank the skies for a good harvest. For a short period of time the festival of fertility was forgotten, but it was revived by a tourist organization in the 1970s. And thus, we can now participate once again in this event conceived long before us.
During the La Fugarena festival you will be able to visit an art exhibition of works made by children, participate in traditional games, and listen to live performances of local artists. On top of everything, there will be a market working. Here, you will be able to purchase the best delicacies of the region, as well as some of the greatest wines from local sellers.
The market will be open from 8AM; the fire in d'Armi square – when it gets dark.
