In the Sacred month Ramadan there is the night Laylat al-Qadr - The Night of Power and Destiny – the most significant night, the celebration of which is in September. The first surahs of the Sacred Koran were heaven-sent to the prophet Mohammed at this very night.
Islamic scientists assume several reasons, why this night was called "Laylat al-Qadr" (The Night of Power):
"Its power and majesty is in the fact that the Sacred Koran was heaven-sent at this very night. Incredibly great number of angels come down to the Earth at this night. The demonstration of grace, mercy, and forgiveness of the Most High is incomparable with the other nights in its significance. A believer, spending the night in prayers, owing to the Most High acquires an extremely great amount of power and life energy".
The precise date of this night is unknown, it usually happens within the last 10 days of the month Ramadan. Many theologians emphasize the night of the 27th day of the month Ramadan, saying that this is the most probable time, but it is not unambiguously. Laylat al-Qadr has some peculiarities. Sometimes it is very quiet during this night, the stars do not fall, the weather is cloudless and without precipitations. This night has its own unusual shine and brilliance, and in the morning the sun ascends as a full moon – without dazzling beams, with tender light.
During Laylat al-Qadr the best thing to do for a Muslim will be the fulfillment of penance (taub) with his heart and tongue, for Allah to forgive all his sins. At this Night the missed prayers are said, the Sacred Koran is read, the mistakes of the passed days are analyzed, the past insults are forgiven, and the plans for the future are made.
