Antalya
Antalya is a city, a resort, and a port in Southern turkey, the administrative center of the Antalya Province. The city is located 30 meters above sea level. The population is 677 thousand people (as of 2005) and up to 2 million people during the summer season. At the present time Antalya is divided into the Old and the New cities.
The climate in Antalya is a typical Mediterranean climate: hot and dry summers with temperately rainy winters. The sun shines brightest April through October and the humidity is rather high, reaching 64 %, while the average water temperature is around 21,5 °C. The summer season lasts for 8 to 9 months!
Antalya is one of the most popular resort areas in Turkey; it has an international airport, a developed entertainment industry, including several water-parks, a good choice of hotels, great amusement parks, disco clubs, restaurants, and much more.
Kemer
Kemer is a resort city and the administrative center of Kemer region, in the Antalya province, Turkey. The city is located 42 kilometers to the Southwest of Antalya and has a population of 17,3 thousand people as of 2000. Kemer is situated in a historical area known as Lykia, the land that holds the footsteps of Alexander Macedonian, Antonius and many other famous military leaders of the Ancient World.
The city is located on the outskirts of the Taurus mountains stepping closely to the sea. Regardless of the constant sunshine, Kemer is relatively cool because of the special microclimate. In winter the water temperature is around 10-12°C and during the summer it reaches 27°C.
Kemer and its suburbs host a large variety of hotels, starting from family inns and finishing with luxurious five-star giants with clubs, casinos, restaurants, and much more.
Bodrum
Bodrum is one of the most popular resort cities in Turkey. It is located in the Mugla province, approximately 500 kilometers to the West from Antalya.
Bodrum is considered one of the most beautiful cities on the coast of the Aegean Sea and a popular center for tourism and vacationing.
This small city has a population of 32 thousand people but during the summer this figure amounts to several hundred thousand tourists attracted by wonderful sites that local nature has to offer, a very convenient yacht port and an interesting nightlife. It is humorously referred to as the "Bedroom" of Europe.
Until the 1970s Bodrum was just a small fishermen’s village built on the ruins of a once proud city of Halicarnassus.
Marmaris
The resort town of Marmaris is located at the meeting point of the Aegean and Mediterranean seas, in a green cove surrounded by fir hills. This cove is one of the largest coves in the world! Marmaris is one of the most popular tourist destinations in South-Western Turkey, province of Mullah. To the North of Marmaris lies the magnificent Gokova Bay, to the South – the Mediterranean Sea. The Western border of Marmaris locale is comprised of the Datca peninsula, and in the East lies the Koycegiz Lake. All year around Marmaris is surrounded by green landscapes! The surrounding hills and the sea give Marmaris a special kind of charm.
Up to this day the old part of the Marmaris castle survived. Old houses on narrow streets attract many travelers and are protected by the Turkish government. A stroll around the Old City will give you the opportunity to enjoy the amazing architecture of the Mullah province. Most of these buildings are inhabited by Marmaris locals.
Istanbul
Istanbul is located in the hill country of North-West Turkey on both side of the Bosporus straight and to the South on the coast of the Marmara Sea. The larger part of the city is located in Europe, the smaller – in Asia. Moreover, the European part of the city is further divided into two parts by the Golden Horn bay.
Istanbul possesses a very fortunate geographic position –the city is located in two parts of the world simultaneously, on the way from Europe to Asia and from the Black Sea into the Marmara Sea, and further into the Mediterranean.
The climate in Istanbul is subtropical, Mediterranean, mild, humid, and it is really warm hear starting from early spring until late autumn. The sky is oftentimes cloudy (the average temperature in January ranges between +3° and +9°C, in August it’s 20-29°C, water temperature 23°C). Rainfall reaches somewhere around 633 mm per year. Winters are rainy and there are snowfalls sometimes.
