Eiffel Tower Ticket Prices Soar Apr 06, 2009Starting today, April 6th, the ticket prices for Eiffel Tower visits in Paris rose sharply. Visitors will have to pay 4.8 Euros to climb up to the first floor and 8 Euros to get to the second level. You can also take the stairs for only 4.5 Euros. A climb to the top level will cost 13 Euros. The Eiffel Tower is considered property of Paris, serviced by the Eiffel Tower Company during 2005-2015 time period. The City of Paris holds 59.9% of the ownership rights in the Eiffel Tower Company. Last year’s revenue amounted to 64 million Euros and the tower was visited by 7 million people, three quarters of whom were foreign tourist. Meanwhile the Parisian authorities decided to repaint the Eiffel Tower: soon it will get a new shade of brown.
The symbol of France celebrated its 120th birthday this May 31st and shall be painted with three shades of brown: darker at the bottom and lighter at the top. Painters will use 60 metric tons of material to coat the tower, and the job will cost the town’s people 4 million Euros.
