May 24th, 2009 - May 31st, 2009 (TBA) The Fair in Codoba La Feria de Cordoba Apr 27, 2009The fair in Cordoba takes place every year at the end of May in honor of Virgin Mary de la Salud ('salud' in Spanish means 'good health'). The townspeople and all the guests delve with pleasure into an atmosphere of common joy accompanied by tradition music. At the fair you will get a chance to see not only the ripest tomatoes and juiciest apples but also big long horn bulls and beautiful horses. But that's just in the first five mornings of the fair. After that the fair becomes a real carnival! You will have a chance to dance national dances, get acquainted with local games and customs, taste some of the traditional local meals. The fair square will feature street shows. In search of entertainment and delicious food you should peek into the "casettas" - this is the name for the big tens with a stage for shows, a kitchen and a bar inside.
In these very tents various entertainment programs will be conducted. Practically all the "casettas" in Cordoba will be open for tourists, the entrance is free. You can move around from place to place in search of better music or food. Additionally, during the fair bull fight will take place and also magnificent fireworks. Amusement parks will be open for children. In order to get to the fair you will need to take a bus from downtown, which will take you directly to where all the fun is. Buses service the route all night long, so in case you wish to leave La Feria de la Cordoba you will be able to do so at your personal convenience. Back to news
