Cartier-Bresson Exhibition in ParisApr 26, 2009On the occasion of the 100th Anniversary of the brilliant french photographer Cartier-Bresson the European House of Photographie (Maisone Europienne de la Photographie) in Paris organizes an exhibition of 340 works of the master. The Exhibition is dedicated to two themes - Paris and Europeans. For these two thematic blocs the moderators have selected photographs presented previously at "Looking in the Eyes of Paris" (Paris а vue d’œil) at the Carnaval Museum in 1984 and "Europeans" (Des Europйens) at the European House of Photography in 1997. The exhibition is scheduled to last all the way through August 30th, writes Paris.fr. The European House of Photography is located at 5/7 Rue de Fourcy, Saint Paul or Pont Marie subway stations.
Henri Cartier-Bresson (1908-2004) is often refferd to as the father of photo reporting and photojournalism. What distinguishes his style of work is the fact that he never did more than one take and never altered a photograph, in other words he was making the final photo at the time of filming. Back to news
