A new designer hotel will open in SicilyMay 04, 2009
In July 2009 in Taormine, Sicily a new designer hotel will open called Hotel Imperiale. Hotel Imperiale is located in the very heart of Taormine, at the intersection of old green street that carry the aroma of Glicinia flowers. Over here, at the top of the hill, the hotel guests will be able to truly enjoy the view of the ancient Greek amphitheater, Naxos Bay, brightly filled with lights during night time, and the snowy top of the legendary Etna volcano. Only a few steps from the hotel lies the main street of the city – Corso Umberto, where many well-known people spent time, bringing fame to this place, including Guy de Maupassant, Johann Wolfgang von Goethe, Sophi Lauren, Gretta Garbo, Gary Grant, and Elizabeth Taylor. For decades Taormine inspired, and continues to inspire film director towards creating new works of art, important film industry events are conducted here every year, including the Taormine Film Festival and the David di Donatello Awards.
The building of Hotel Imperiale, initially erected in the beginning of the 20th century, is under reconstruction at the moment, to be opened for guests starting May 2009. The Hotel features 63 rooms, including 13 suites. The interiors are decorated in an elegant contemporary style with elements of traditional Sicilian room setting and rose wood finish. The bathrooms feature double sinks and separate toilet rooms, both have a volcanic rock finish and Sicilian mosaic on the walls and floors. The so-called Pool Suites have spacious rooms and also feature outdoor gardens and open-air jacuzzi from volcanic rock. The rooms that fall into the Imperiale and Presidential lux categories have a separate designated fitness area. Here you can enjoy a spa-treatment, the bathrooms are equipped with jacuzzi and steam rooms.
You can enjoy a cocktail and some appetizers in the lobby and in the Roof Garden bar located on the roof of the hotel. From the roof you get an astonishing view of Mount Etna. The Pool Bar is located near the swimming pool, obviously. The bar offers a range of light Mediterranean lunches, while the Anfiteatro restaurant, located in the mezzanine, is a great place to spend a romantic dinner in purest Sicilian tradition.
Guests can relax at the open air swimming pool with a panoramic view and at the spa-center, which is equipped with jacuzzi, steam rooms, aroma therapeutic showers and 5 health treatment rooms.
