There are three main reason why people choose to go to Paris. The first is that Paris is a city of romance, second – Paris is known for its museums, galleries, and other sites, and the third reason for visiting Paris is shopping! Every summer, starting with the second week of June all Paris stores commence their summer sales programs. Let’s begin with a review of a shopping mall that earned world fame. This is the Lafayette Gallery, located on Haussmann boulevard, number 40. 75 thousand square meters of pure pleasure! Tourists, locals, and even celebrities from all over the world come to shop at the Lafayette Gallery.

At the Lafayette Gallery there is an interesting tradition – the fashion show hour, that happens during the year on every Wednesday (starts 11AM) and from April to October every Friday as well (starts at 2:30PM). At the sale some of the items can be purchased with a 50% discount. If you like to show off a little, or watch other people do it, and get a chance to buy clothes and accessories from leading French designers, then walk the Avenue Montaigne, Paris’ fashion boulevard. Your attention cannot miss the boutiques of Kenzo, Carl Lagerfeld, Chanel, Givenchy, Cartier, and many other famous brand names. Slightly more democratic prices can be found in the stores on Saint Placide street in St. Germaine quarter.

In addition to everything mentioned above it is worth noting that Paris has some of the most amazing markets as well. The huge market Les Puces de Saint-Ouen is open every Saturday, Sunday, and Monday. You will find antique furniture, African musical instruments, and…as you probably guessed, everything else. Just be careful with your wallet! The Antica market, 99 rue des Rosiers, Marché Antica, here you can buy furniture in Art Décor style, as well as painting and intricate pottery. A little down the road, 110 rue des Rosiers, Market Serpette will make anyone happy with its large collection of furniture, paintings, mirrors, kitchen ware, and much more.
