Paris invites tourists to relax at local beaches and enjoy live jazz concerts Aug 05, 2009There is not much time left until the traditional holiday season is over. And some of the travelers still haven’t decided where to spend their precious vacation time. By the way, the problem here is often not the indecisiveness of tourists but the fact that lately people are more prone to wait for really “hot” offers to come around, as they expect them to be considerably cheaper. In order to make a spontaneous trip more interesting and memorable, specialists recommend paying more attention to the events that are scheduled for tourist visits during the trip, and not solely focus on the price of the tour. The end of summer and the beginning of fall in Europe is considered the ending of the festival season, and means that travelers have a chance to find their way to the most interesting events, celebrations, and shows. This year it is worth paying closer attention to Paris, France.
Until August 20th a traditional event is being hosted here, called Paris Plages. Two blocks - Voie Georges Pompido and Bassin la Villette – conduct yearly events, transform into city beaches with all sorts of entertainment. Guest can relax as much as they want laying around on the sand, indulge the various flavors of Paris ice-cream, or enjoy a free concert on the beach. In addition to all of the above, all music lovers will be pleasantly surprised by an invitation to the Jazz a la Villette, jazz festival. The festival will take place in a park with the same name between the dates of 1st and 13th of September. The organizers of the event declared that this year there will be 50 bands and 500 soloists participating in the event, including Ornette Coleman, Ron Carter, and John Zorn. Back to news
