Not too long ago the guide and creator of Paris excursions, Richard Nahem, joined efforts with a famous chef – Charlotte Puckette, in order to organize a series of cooking classes for the English speaking tourist of Paris. Unlike the majority of cooking schools and classes in Paris that simply teach you how to cook, Puckette places emphasis upon classical French cuisine with ethnical features. There are people coming from many different countries living in Paris, having different cultural backgrounds, and their culinary traditions have exerted considerable influence over the culinary traditions of Paris. Groups of students (not more than 8 people) are invited to come to a local farm produce market in order to pick ingredients and then go to the home of Charlotte Puckette, to her beautifully assembled kitchen.

Under the guidance of an experienced chef tourists quickly learn to prepare fully diversified Paris dinners consisting of three entries, says Travel+Leisure. In addition to culinary skills, tourists get a chance to learn a lot of information related to location in Paris which are best suited for purchasing high quality kitchen ware, the types of products that do not lose flavor in vacuum sealed bags and can be useful during travel, what types of wine are best combined with what meal and a lot more. A friendly and peaceful environment and a meditative process of preparing food – exactly what tourists need to take their mind off exhausting walking tours around the city. A five hour class costs $240, including all the produce and the wine.
