Festival of Russian Culture Opens at Italian Resort Aug 20, 2009August 20th, Forte Dei Marmi resort in Italy opens the first International festival of Arts and Cinema, dedicated to the cultural dialog between Russia and Italy. The resort has been eyed by organization parties for some time now. Finally, the events have been scheduled, to last until August 27th and as of this day, appear to become an yearly occurrence. The festival will be conducted in the form of an open biennale, and address a very diverse audience. Some of the artistic genres to be represented here include: film, music, performing arts, famous musicians and filmmakers will participate. The locations include city cinemas, squares and other public places. The idea of the festival belongs to famous Russian artist Aleksey Garnizonov, and is conducted with the support of the Russian Ministry of Culture, The ministry of Culture of Italy, as well as a number of other social and educational institutions.
Umberto Buratti, the mayor of Forte Dei Marmi, considers the new festival a great opportunity to introduce the guests and city dwellers to the rich and versatile character of Russian culture. “With Italian Year in Russian coming up soon, the 2011 meeting of the masters of both cultures should provide a perfect opportunity and an additional impulse for bilateral cooperation between the two cultures” – says the president of the festival, composer and producer, Aleksey Garnizonov. He invites all the Russian tourists, who will be in Versilia, Italy at the time of the festival to join in the fun of Russian culture in Italy. Back to news
