Special menu for Ramadan at the Ritz-Carlton Hotel in Istanbul Aug 22, 2009Ramadan is a holy month for the Muslims, and this year it falls on the period lasting from the 21st of August and until September 20th. The Ritz-Carlton Hotel in Istanbul will offer guests a special menu of traditional foods prepared by Chef de Cuisine – Ali Ronay. During the month of Ramadan the Çintemani Restaurant at the Ritz-Carlton will organize a buffet-style table called Iftar, which includes such traditional foods like Pide – Turkish pastry, sprinkled with sesame seeds or prepared with ground meat or cheese filling; Lahmacun – are a pizza-like food prepared with meat filling; döner kebap, better known as shaorma; homemade drinks such as sour cherry and tamarind (Indian date) sherbet, basil lemonade and airan (a sour milk drink), famous Turkish sweets and a lot more, writes FTN.travel.
Guests will not only be able to enjoy some of the best tasting traditional foods but admire the scenic views of the Bosporus strait, that open up from the windows of the Çintemani Restaurant. Visitors should also remember that, even though Iftar means free give away of food during the month of Ramadan, the meal will cost them 99 Turkish liras (47 Euros), including the soft drinks and the national drinks.
