According to the ratings of USA Forbes magazine, the Italian city Lucca holds the honorable second position among European cities that are good for living and buying real estate. The full list of idyllic places features a total of ten cities. The leader, according to the six tourism and real estate industry experts who conducted the research, is the Greek Patmos. The fourth place was taken by a Tuscany town called Pietrasanta (a province of Lucca), located on the border with Liguria and characterized as a "heaven for sculptors". Meanwhile, Lucca is considered a true ‘heaven on earth" due to the fact a top of the class life flows very peacefully here, without the tourist agglomerations so common for Pisa, and due to its perfect location.

Forbes lavishly praises the historical downtown area of Lucca, which has not changed since the times of its famous offspring – Djakomo Puccini, a place where Italian fashion boutiques await you, a place where antique castles drop their shadows onto beautiful green alleys, a place where you can taste some of the best wine and olive oil. Pietrasanta, on the other hand, and according to the same Forbes experts, is an "art commune", where they make the best pesto and bake the best focaccia. Besides, it's all just a few steps away from Forte dei Marmi. At the bottom of the pedestal Forbes left the French Saignon, a small medieval town from the Provence region.
