The first rotating hotel in Antalya Oct 07, 2009Antalya, the popular Mediterranean resort in Turkey, has got a brand new attraction – the first rotating hotel in the world. The main building of Hotel Marmara Antalya is a standard hotel with 214 rooms with views of Antalya, one of the most beautiful Turkish cities. Meanwhile, the second building can rightly be called an engineering miracle. A cylinder tower with 24 hotel rooms making one full 360 degree rotation during the period from 2AM till 10PM. The construction of the rotating building had a cost of $12 000 000.
Despite being incredibly massive, the building weighs 2750 tons, the rotation is performed quite seamlessly due to a unique system: the building is located in a special pool filled with 479 tons of water. The bottom three floors are practically under water, and the three top floors entertain their guests with a continuously changing scenery. Back to news
