A park for the visually impaired Oct 16, 2009The Spanish natural park is ready to receive tourist with vision disabilities. The natural park called Cabarceno offers a guide and a map of the park written in the Braille system for blind visitors. A wonderful place and very popular with tourist, where animals from five continents walk around unobstructed, became a friendly environment for those people who have vision problems – from now on they will be able to enjoy the beautiful outdoors and come in contact with nature. The user-guide for the visually impaired was published by the government of Cantabria and the National Organization of the Blind in Spain, and is considered unique as applied to the natural parks.
In addition, visitors with vision problems will be offered a specially created audio guide and a set of specifically designed routes around the park, which is expected to help the blind walk around the park without assistance. Obviously, in case of emergencies, the park staff is ready to accompany groups or individual blind tourists. And that's not all. Since the Cabarceno natural park is a place where people usually spend the whole day, all the restaurants and cafes in the park now have Braille menus. Now people with visual disabilities have a chance to enjoy themselves and have a good time outdoors. Back to news
