Skiing for everyone in Autrans Nov 26, 2009
The 32nd Foulée Blanche, also known as the White Race, will take place at a French ski and mountain resort called Autrans, between the 20th and 24th of January 2010. This popular competition is conducted in France since 1979 and attracts more and more visitors and participants each year. During the four days of the competition pro skiers and snowboarders, as well as amateurs of all ages and backgrounds compete on different tracks, different distances, different styles.
The Program of the Championship:
- 10th Race for Juniors – January 20th
- 17th Race for Kids – January 21st
- 1st Classic Cross-Country Skiing and Snowshoe Race – January 23rd
- 32nd White Race/ Foulée Blanche – January 24th
The celebration of the event will start on January the 20th with the performances of the Juniors, followed by the children's race. On Friday, January 22nd the tracks will be prepared for the start of the adult races. And on Saturday, January 23rd two classical races will take place on distances of 25 and 10 kilometers. These two races should satisfy all the participants who prefer classical cross-country skiing to downhill racing. Also, for the first time in history there will be a Snowshoe Race organized as a part of the championship. And on Sunday, January 24th, one hundred skiers will compete for the championship title at the world famous Foulée Blanche race.
Thus, during four short days participants will be offered a wide range of tracks depending on their physical ability: 42, 20, 10, and 5 kilometers. The tracks will partially pass right through the Autrans town center, in close proximity to the viewers and fans, who will be able to salute the racers traditionally, with a choir of ringing bells.
In addition to the core program there will be numerous other snow-sport events and entertainment programs for all tastes and preferences. The championship registration is non discriminative and open for everyone.
