The Formigal Mountain resort is ready to open Dec 02, 2009

A massive snowfall was encountered during the last 48 hours above the Pyrenees mountains. The snow creates favorable conditions for the opening of a popular mountain resort in spain ahead of time.

Formigal is one of the most popular mountain resorts in Spain and currently has about 160 cm of snow covering its higher level slopes. On the lower level slopes there is a one meter layer of snow covering the ground. On top of it all, weather forecast shows future snowfalls are very likely.

The resort is currently offering large discounts and deals on season passes. The discounts and deals are limited and some of them are only valid for two weeks.

If you make reservations at the resort before December 15th, you will get free ski or snowboard rental. In addition to that, ski and snowboard rentals for children during the whole season are available free of charge.

By official notice the Formigal resort will open on December 4th. If you are still undecided about your New Year plans, then think about the free rooms in the hotels of Formigal – for all the guests of the resort there will be a holiday dinner on the 31st of December.
