The famine of the dinosaurs came to Paris Dec 15, 2009Children and their parents alike will find great pleasure in this exhibition. Just looking at the colorful decorations and the actual size models of moving dinosaurs will take your breath. The dinosaurs will be returning to the Paris museum of discovery (Palais de la découverte). This time around the exhibition will be dedicated to the paleontological epoch, more precisely to the food rationing of the amazing creatures that lived during that period – dinosaurs. Vegetarian dinosaurs were feeding on plants, but once a shortage of vegetation became more acute, what exactly did they eat? The exposition is very realistic: you can see skeletons of dinosaurs, as well as become familiar with the technology of conducting excavations for the remains and dinosaur fossils.
There is a great variety of ancient giant lizards presented at the museum: starting with the brachiosaurus, which is considered to have been the tallest living dinosaur, reaching heights of 27 meters, and ending with the armored Edmontonia. Of course, the tyrannosaurus has not been forgotten either, and the velociraptors, and other representatives of extinct ancient animal species are all available for observation at the museum. The predominant part of the exhibits is dedicated to the food ration of oviraptor – a dinosaur 2 meters tall, which remains one of the most intriguing and little known species of dinosaurs at this time. Oviraptors have a lot in common with birds, and apparently he was covered in feathers and had a crest on his head. Nobody will remain indifferent after visiting the Paris museum and will certainly be able to learn something new about what Earth was like millions of years ago. The exhibition is called “Dinosaur Famine” and will be opened from December 10th until May 2nd, 2010. Back to news
