Musée d'Orsay exhibition in Madrid, Spain Jan 24, 2010

A significant portion of the art collection from the Musée d'Orsay in Paris can be seen one of these days in Madrid at a free exhibition. The exhibition is curated by the MAPFRE Fund, which happens to belong to one of the largest insurance companies in Spain.

The exhibition is entitled "Impressionism. A Modern Renaissance." and tells the story of how this art movement evolved through the works of talented painters such as Manet, Monet, Renoir, Sisley, Pissarro, and Cezanne. The exhibition feature around 90 pieces, most of which were never before seen in Madrid, Spain.

In particular, visitors will have a chance to witness such masterpieces like "The Fifer" and "Madame Manet at the Piano" by Édouard Manet, "The Swing" by Renoir, "Gare Saint-Lazare" by Claude Monet, and "Young Girls at the Seaside" by Pierre Puvis de Chavannes.

The exhibition will be open until April 22. You can visit the museum between 2PM and 8PM on Mondays, 10AM till 8PM - Tuesday through Saturday, and 11AM till 7PM on Sundays. The museum is located on Recoletos blvd, 23, Madrid, Spain.
