Museum of Magic opens in Turin Mar 26, 2010The Museum of Magic is soon to become Turin's newest tourist attraction. According to the project, an abandoned ex-church in the city center would house the museum in a tribute to the city's magic side. There is a belief that Turin is at the intersection of "white magic axis" and a "black magic axis", so its location at the point where good and evil meet makes it an ideal location for a museum of magic. The plan envisions a display space and theatre inside the ex-church and a circus tent in the garden for special exhibitions and outdoor shows. The final touch is a miniature train, which will circle the museum on a "magical tour" for children.
Turin has become an international Mecca for believers in the occult. They say that the city is riddled with Masonic symbols. Many local residents believe that Turin's most famous landmarks can be connected to make a pentagram. Besides that, many historic buildings are decorated with mysterious geometric decorations and sinister-looking gargoyles. One of the Turin's most popular guided tours takes visitors on a walk to a square in the city center known by locals as the "Gates of Hell" and the Cathedral of St. John the Baptist, where the Shroud of Turin is located.
