Murcia theme park to compete with Disneyland ParisApr 06, 2010Paramount Pictures has chosen the region of Murcia for the construction of a new theme park and entertainment in Spain. The web-site espanarusa.com reports that the construction works will take about one and a half or two years. This giant of the American film industry hopes that this new large project will compete directly with Disneyland Paris. The complex will be located on a territory of 2.5 square kilometers which will create 20,000 jobs for local residents. The project is expected to make Murcia more attractive to tourists and residents of other regions of Spain. As the Minister of Culture Murcia Pedro Cruz considers, the entertainment center must attract not less than 3 millions tourists per season regularly.
There are already several similar parks in Spain. They are "Port Aventura" in Tarragona, "Terra Mitica" in Alicante, "Tivoli Park" in Malaga and "Warner Bros. Movie World Madrid" in Madrid. However, this doesn't stop Paramount Pictures. The representatives of the company are sure that every new project with a great marketing politics is able to become popular in a really short time, especially in a region that is directly connected with the sea, where you can combine pleasant beach vacations and active rest with various entertainment attractions.
