Spain invites for concerts in ancient castles Apr 14, 2010Valladolid, the province in the north-west of Spain, has the new program to offer to its local residents and tourists called "Musical evenings in the castles". All guests will be able to listen to the music and learn more about the architecture of historical monuments of the province.
The concerts with the participation of various bands will take place in castles located on the territory of the province on Saturdays from the 3 to the 24 of July. This is a wonderful opportunity for tourists to get to know the cultural and historical heritage of the region of Valladolid.
The concerts will take place on the 3 of July in the Castle of Torrelobatón at about 30 km from the capital of the region, in one of the best preserved castles of Castile – Leon; on the 3 of July in the Castle of Portillo (25 km from the capital) located at the top of the hill, this castle was first mentioned in the 10th century; on the 10 of July in the Castle of Íscar (40 km from the capital); on the 10 of July in the Castle of Trigueros del Valle (30 km from the capital); on the 17 of July in the Castle of Villafuerte (40 km from the capital); on the 17 of July in the Castle of Tiedra (60 km from the capital); on the 24 of July in the Castle of Montealegre de Campos (35 km from the capital), where the movie "El Cid" with Charlton Heston was shot in 1961; on the 24 of July in the Castle of Simancas (14 km from the capital).
