Turkish hotels lower their rates for RamadanMay 30, 2010Some Turkish hotels announced that they would lower the rates dramatically during the Ramadan holiday, the holy month for all Muslims, which will start on August 11th and will last till September 8th 2010, high season of tourism. In an attempt to break a traditional belief that "it's not a good thing to go on vacation during the Ramadan holiday", which has led to a decrease of hotel room sales, the Turkish hotels started advertising campaigns dedicated to the Ramadan holiday in advance this year. As the official web-site of touristic agencies Tursab reports, some hotels offered 70% off the rates during Ramadan and achieved a great increase of advanced hotel bookings.
Thus, the Club Familia hotel located in Cesme, selling a standard room for 170 lira (about 110 U.S. dollars) per person from July 1st to August 6th last year, lowered the rates to 40 lira (24 U.S. dollars) per person during Ramadan. The Sahh Inn Paradise hotel asks for 26 euro per night for the same offer, although their rates have never been lower than 97 euro before. However, the big hotel chains of Antalya have not yet made their special offers for Ramadan.
