Andalusia is very popular among foreign tourists Jun 26, 2010Unlike other regions of Spain, the touristic sector of Andalusia is starting to recover from the crisis. Almost 790,000 foreign tourists have visited this autonomous community of Spain in May this year, which is 6.5 % more than for the same period of the previous year. For the last half a year this autonomous community welcomed more than 3.4 million of guests from other countries and the increase was constant. This growth that has only been exceeded by the Canary Islands, confirms the tendency observed in this region from November last year. It's quite interesting that there was a drop of 2.8% in touristic industry for the same period of time in the entire country.
Apart from statistical data on the development of tourism in this autonomous community that lives on the money of foreign guests, there is some other good news. According to the analysis of offers in the touristic industry carried out by the companies Exceltur and Deloitte, Andalusia took the 4th place after the Basque Country, Madrid and Catalonia and it is a leader in the rating of beach destinations.
