The Barcelona Bus Turístic offers an easy and fast way to start your journey around the capital of Catalonia and possibility to find your "route", so that having received a general idea about the major touristic routes, you could then go back and explore it better on your own, if you wish.
The Barcelona Bus Turístic has 42 stops, and links all of the Barcelona tourist sites you could possibly want to visit. The bus stops are located near museums, monuments and sights. Three routes offered by the Barcelona Bus Turístic include a northbound and a southbound line. The northbound line leaves from the Plaça de Catalunya and goes through the main avenue Paseo de Gracia, stopping by some famous buildings of the modern era, created by Antonio Gaudi: La Pedrera and Casa Batlló. After that the route goes to the northern part of the city where you can get off and have a walk in the parks Guell and Tibidabo. Then the bus goes back in the city to the Olympic Stadium and the Barcelona Museum of Contemporary Art (MACBA).
The southbound line starts from the Plaça de Catalunya as well and goes through Paseo de Gracia. It crosses the northbound line by Casa Batlló and La Pedrera. Then the bus goes towards Рlaza España, from where you can walk to the cultural center of Caixaforum and the National Art Museum of Catalonia (MNAC), located in the amazing building of Palau Nacional with great views at the northern part of the city. Then the bus goes on the Montjuic mountain, making stops at the Olympic Stadium and the Montjuic Castle, where you can enjoy the view at the coast from the top of the mountain and even walk down to the beach. There is a great coastline in Barcelona and you can find lots of cozy restaurants with great cuisine. The bus leaves from the Olympic Port where it crosses the southbound line and goes along the coast. You can hop off at the Forum building and get to know the modern architecture of Barcelona.
