The traditional Spanish festival of San Fermin has been started in the city of Pamplona, Spain. This festival draws thousands of tourists to the city annually. It has a history of 400 years. Since that time, after setting off the fireworks, they have been starting the running of the bulls along the streets in the old part of Pamplona all the way to the arena where bullfighting takes place. This year during the festival the authorities of the city decided to ban the vuvuzelas, plastic blowing horns up to 1 meter long that are normally used by fans during football matches. As for the rest of the festival, it's being held in connection with traditions: with the running of the bulls, bullfighting and celebrations. The local authorities encourage participants to be careful: sine 1911 when they started making the statistics 15 people were killed during the bullfighting.

Many famous writers and actors visited Pamplona at different times, just to see the festival of San Fermin with their own eyes. They were Ernest Hemingway, Wells, Eva Gardner and Arthur Miller. Ernest Hemingway brought this festival to general attention by making its events the central to the plot of "The Sun Also Rises". The festivities will last for 9 days.
