Bolzano is the most expensive city of ItalyJul 09, 2010As a result of the research carried out by the Italian national statistical institute (Istat), Bolzano is considered the most expensive city of this country, while Naples is the city with the most affordable prices. As statistical data shows, the prices in the city of Bolzano located in the northern Italy are 5.6% higher than in the country in average. The second place as a city with the most expensive prices goes to Bologna, where the cost of goods and services exceeds the average prices with 4.9 %. The third place in the rating goes to Milan, where residents and tourists pay 4.7% more compared to other Italian cities. The smallest expenses were marked in Naples, where prices are 6.2% lower than in Italy in average.
The rating was created in the result of comparison of the cost of 3,700 goods and services, including food and drinks. The results of this research confirm the division of Italy into the rich North and the poor South. The high level of prices is also marked in Trieste, Trento and Aosta, while the moderate prices were marked in Potenza and Reggio Calabria.
