Verona invites tourists for Valentine’s Day Jan 12, 2009

“If you are in love, come to Verona”, this motto has been a  traditional invitation to “the city of love” for five years now. It’s an invitation for everyone who is in love to visit Verona on Valentine’s Day. The festival in Verona, the city of love, will feature a series of events dedicated to the story of Romeo and Juliet.  The festival will be dedicated to love, and  will be held with an aim to remind everybody that Verona is not only a city of love, but also a city of art, culture and hospitality, and of course, delicious cuisine. Tourists who will be in Verona from the 13th to the 15th of February will have an unforgettable week-end and will enjoy numerous entertainment shows, such as concerts, book presentations, theater shows, tasting food, and excursions to romantic places of Verona and the vicinity.

Besides that, the old part of the city will be decorated with “Love illumination”. Red lights in the shape of heart will illuminate the streets leading from the Bra square to Juliet’s house. Romantic fair “Un cuore da scoprire” will be held on Piazza Dei Signori. Counters with various souvenirs dedicated to Valentine’s Day will be placed in the form of heart.

Those who like cars will enjoy the exhibition “Giulietta in Love” where Alfa Romeo Giulietta, popular car model of 50s and 70s, will be displayed. The exhibition will take place in Arena di Verona. Guests will also be offered a romantic dinner with candles in restaurants that take part in the program “Due cuori a tavola” and prepare a special love menu that you will not forget.
