Five leading tour operators to Italy Jan 29, 2009

"PAC group", "Danco travel", "Natalie Tours", "Asent Travel" are on the list of five best Russian tour operators too Italy of 2008 according to visa statistics. According to the official statistics from Consular Department from the Embassy of Italy in Moscow, Russian Federation citizens were issued 269,707 visas, from which more than 113,000 visas were issued to these five companies. In total 228 Russian travel agencies are accredited by the Embassy of Italy in Moscow. "PAC group" is the main leader, which received about 40,000 visas (39,959). "Danco travel" is on the second place, they received 28,420 visas. "Natalie Tours" is on the third place, they received 23,951 visas. "Tris T" received 10,426 visas. "Asent Travel" received 10.352 visas.

According to the information from Italian Government Tourist Board (ENIT), August was the most popular month among Russian tourists; more than 37,000 visas were issued in August. January 2008 was the least popular month, 14,000 visas were issued in January, both single entry and multiple entry visas. October and November turned out to be less popular due to the crisis. However, more than 20,500 visas were issued in December which proves that Italy is still one of the most favorite countries for winter holidays among Russian people. It’s approximately the same number of visas as in March and June of 2008.
