Turkey is ready to share expenses Feb 07, 2009A delegation of General Director of Communication of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of Turkey, Mr Juhmur Guven Tashbashi, and his Assistant Mr Levent Dimireli visited Moscow on February the 5th. According to the information from the Bureau of Tourism at the Embassy of Turkey, there was a meeting with the representatives of biggest Russian tour operators. The aim of the meeting was to clear the situation on the tourism market of Russian Federation before the summer season. The information on the targets of the PR-campaign and the costs of the campaign will be announced in two weeks, they said at the Embassy of Turkey.
The general Director of Sunrise Tour Dmitriy Mazurov told about some details, “It was announced that the Government of Turkey has an opportunity to make a common promotion campaign. We are talking about the partial money refund spent on campaign by Russian tour operators, but only those who represent not less than 3% of the market of Turkey. Criteria for commercials and requirements will be announced soon. But first of all the participants of the campaign will have to prove their role on this market”. The Director of Department of Turkey and Egypt “Capital Tour”, Mr Anton Abramov said that Turkish officials only consider the possibility of payment of not more than 50% of the cost of promotion campaign, not including taxes and other expenses. The expert also added that the money refund to Russian tour operators for promotion campaign will be possible for the first time ever since many years.
The General Director of Anex Tour Mr Etem Altinel also told about other aspects of the meeting. He said that summer prognosis is very optimistic. “Though some hoteliers don’t think so. People will end up buying tours at the last moment, several days before the beginning of the tour. The cost of ground transportation will be reasonable. There might be discounts. Things will be clear by the end of February, during the traditional workshop with hoteliers of Turkey”, he said. Back to news
